The uncertainty and complexity of the financing process is still the #1 pain point for consumers in the car buying journey1, and rising prices are putting even more pressure on answering their all-important “can I afford it?” question earlier in that journey.
As a result, more than half (57%) of consumers say they want to know their exact monthly vehicle payment before even visiting a dealership1. So, in the latest enhancement of our instant financing capabilities, shoppers on participating dealer VDPs can now reveal their pre-qualified payment offers with just one click.
How it works
1 Shoppers can get instantly pre-qualified on cars.com/finance with a soft-credit check, and then begin shopping by their monthly budget. This global pre-qualification means they only have to provide their information once at the beginning of their search, instead of on each individual listing.
2 Then, when shoppers view a participating dealer’s VDP, they can reveal their pre-qualified payment offers VDPs with just one click. If you have not enabled Instant Financing soft-credit pre-qualification with our in-network lenders, connect with our team to quickly discuss the feature and get set-up!
3 By clicking to view their pre-qualified offer(s), the shopper is submitting a richly-detailed finance-intent lead to your team. These leads have a 15% higher avg. close rate since they already have the right expectations for their personalized monthly payment.2
4 The shopper receives an email, and a printable .pdf, of their pre-qualified offer to walk into your dealership with. They are also encouraged to complete a full credit application to lock-in their rate, secure their offer, and save more time at your dealership.
